MACkenzie Buchwald, SUMMER CAMP LEADER & TEACHER
Mackenzie began dancing at the age of two and has carried a lifelong passion for dance ever since. She has trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, acro, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop, with ballet training in both the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Cecchetti methods. She has successfully completed both her RAD and Cecchetti Intermediate examinations and continues to pursue her love of dance as a member of Brock University's Competitive Dance Team, where she competes against university and college teams from across Ontario. In addition to competing, Mackenzie is the team's Conditioning and Technique Coordinator, allowing her to combine her passion for dance with teaching.
Mackenzie is currently studying at Brock University in the Concurrent Education program pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies & Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior stream. Through her studies and classroom experiences, she has developed a strong understanding of child development, learning, and creating positive, inclusive environments that support every child's growth and success.
Mackenzie enjoys teaching dancers of all ages and sharing her love of dance in a positive and encouraging environment. She teaches a variety of dance styles and enjoys creating engaging classes and choreography that allow students to grow as dancers and performers. She has also had the opportunity to choreograph for Brock University's Competitive Dance Team, which has further developed her creativity and leadership as both a dancer and educator.
In addition to teaching, Mackenzie has extensive experience working with children through summer camps and enjoys creating engaging, inclusive, and memorable experiences for campers. She is HIGH FIVE certified and is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children can learn, make new friends, and create lasting memories.
Mackenzie looks forward to continuing to share her passion for dance with every student.
